Spike Lee is right: "Learning never ceases." He converses with students about his work and creative process. To be successful in any venture according to him there is "no one way to do it." Lee says, "You just got to be 10x better."
Whether it is directing or writing, Lee chooses his battles wisely because "everything has an impact." A concept he stresses significantly is knowing one's self. To stand out one has to have a "unique vision". "You have to develop your own unique voice- the way you speak and write," he says.
Critics may have categorized his work as "controversial" but Lee remains unfazed by this label. He stays critical about today's world and avoids What Ifs scenarios. He says, "I stick with the facts." And it does not matter to him if he were remembered either as a Black filmmaker or a filmmaker. "I know who I am," says Lee.
